Massaggi che parlano al cuore. Tecniche di massaggio bioenergetico dolce per una relazione profonda con il proprio figlio
By Margarita Klein & E. Temperanza, 2009
This was a gift from Jasmine’s mom. It was a great way for Jasmine to learn about baby massage, and also read out loud in Italian to Pemi (often while breastfeeding).
The benefits of baby massage were first discovered as a way to help premie babies to thrive. The practice was later extended to full-term babies. We have incorporated it into our bed time ritual as a way to spend loving intimate time with Pemi that helps him relax before bedtime. The book outlines two main massage methods: the “massage of the butterfly”, ideal for babies under 3 months, and the traditional Indian baby massage technique, better suited for slightly older babies as it is more vigorous.
We have been practicing the “massage of the butterfly”: for each body part we first stroke it, then gently rub it like it's made of jell-o and finally draw circles on the skin. Pemi loves it (though it might tickle him a bit, as stroking his chest can get him kicking and twisting)!
